Former WWE Superstar Ricochet has taken a playful jab at AEW International Champion Will Ospreay, reigniting their long-standing rivalry and potentially setting the stage for a confrontation at AEW’s upcoming Grand Slam event.
The exchange began when Ospreay expressed his excitement about performing at Arthur Ashe Stadium for Grand Slam on September 25th. The British high-flyer reminisced about his desire to compete there since witnessing the epic clash between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2021.
Ricochet, who recently made waves by leaving WWE and debuting with AEW at All In, responded to Ospreay’s post on X with a brief but loaded message:
See you there, little bro.
This seemingly innocuous comment carries significant weight given the pair’s storied history. The two aerial artists have a rich background in classic matches that predate the former Intercontinental Champion’s WWE tenure. Ospreay had previously voiced his interest in rekindling their rivalry during Ricochet’s uncertain period with WWE throughout 2024.
The tension between these two performers has been building since Ricochet’s AEW debut. A brief confrontation on the August 28th episode of Dynamite was cut short by Pac’s interference. At All Out, Ospreay directly called out the former WWE United States Champion, challenging him to “start getting some wins,” to which he cryptically replied, “See you soon.”
Which Academy Award-Winning Actor Did Ricochet Credit For Inspiring His Career?
Ricochet credited action movie legend Jackie Chan with inspiring his high-flying wrestling style, the AEW star expressed his admiration for Chan’s innovative action sequences and physical comedy in his films which he says inspired his approach to his in-ring style.
In recent news, Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher will challenge for the AEW World Tag Team titles at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
In a new interview, Ricochet addressed the possibility of a heel turn in AEW.
