Ricochet Not Offended By Infamous WWE Booking Decision

Ricochet didn’t offence to a particular WWE decision that some may have seen as a downgrade.

Towards the end of his six-year run with WWE, fans were taken aback by the decision to crown Ricochet as the first-ever WWE Speed Champion.

The move was seen by some as a downgrade for the former Intercontinental Champion, who had rarely been featured on TV since his loss to Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2023. However, the man himself disagrees.

During a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, the now-AEW star hit back at the notion and shared his belief of taking advantage of every opportunity that comes his way – whether that be in wrestling or general life.

No… You got to look at everything as an opportunity and if you don’t, then I think you’re already kind of defeated. You have to look at everything — especially, you know, they were putting something into this and I wanted to be a part of, again, building something. Building something and making it as big as possible.

I like that feeling and so, again, any opportunity you get, you gotta strike and that’s kind of the way I see it and that’s with everything. Life, wrestling, everything.

Ricochet Believes AEW Wouldn’t Exist Without Him

During an interview late last year, Ricochet made the bold claim that AEW as an entity would not exist without his work on the independents. While he doesn’t believe he’s the sole reason for the promotion’s founding, he claims he played a huge role in setting up the foundations for AEW.
