WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet was missing from SmackDown on Friday night and the star has revealed his absence is down to some much-needed family time.
Ricochet last competed on the special WrestleMania SmackDown where he put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against both Humberto and Angel in a Triple Threat match. Despite having the deck stacked against him, The One And Only withstood both of Los Lotharios to retain his gold.
Before SmackDown On FOX aired live on Friday night, Richochet revealed on social media that he’d be absent from the show in Milwaukee as he was given time off by WWE to spend with his son:
“A champion not only defends his title in the ring, he defends & protects his family. Thank you WWE for giving this champion some time to spend with my son this weekend. After whooping Los Lotharios on Wrestlemania Smackdown, some R&R with MY champ is exactly what I need.”
“Your Intercontinental Champ won’t be at Smackdown today, but I will be back next week, better than ever!”
