Ricochet, one of AEW‘s recent high-profile signings, has made a bold statement regarding his influence on the wrestling industry, claiming that without his contributions, AEW might not exist.
Speaking on 103.5 Kiss FM Hot Tag with Brad, Ricochet reflected on his role in shaping the wrestling landscape that allowed for AEW’s formation.
Absolutely.
He said when asked if his career was custom-made for AEW.
I’m not saying I’m the sole reason. I’m just saying, if there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason that it happened, but I am saying, what I have done with Ospreay, with Pac, with AR Fox, with Dragon Gate, with PWG, with everything. Overseas. New Japan. Everything I’ve done in my past career helped set up a world where AEW can exist.
Ricochet, renowned for his high-flying, viral matches, including his classic bouts with Will Ospreay in NJPW, elaborated on his claim.
It’s me, it’s the Young Bucks. It’s Kenny Omega. It’s Ospreay. It’s everybody. I’m just saying, without Ricochet, there would be no Ospreay, really. You know what I’m saying? All of us guys are passionate and without that, there would be no AEW.
Since debuting at All In after signing with the company in the summer, the former WWE star has become a prominent figure in the promotion, currently competing in the AEW Continental Classic.
What Did Ricochet Say About The Likelihood Of Samantha Irvin Returning To Announcing?
Ricochet spoke about the likelihood of his partner, Samantha Irvin, returning to announcing after leaving the wrestling business altogether in October and said that he doesn’t think she will ever come back to announce a match. Irvin made the decision to leave announcing and wrestling as she didn’t enjoy it and whilst her partner doesn’t think she will ever announce again, he did say that she may decide to become an on-screen character at some point.
