Ricky Steamboat will be making a guest appearance on the special production of AEW Dynamite in conjunction with HBO’s House of the Dragon.
The August 17th edition of AEW Dynamite will be presented by HBO’s new series House of the Dragon. The prequal to the acclaimed fantasy drama Game of Thrones will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on August 21st.
Following the announcement of the tie-in with AEW, Tony Khan has confirmed that the show will feature an appearance from the aptly named Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. The special guest timekeeper spot will be the first time that the WWE Hall of Famer has appeared on AEW television.
The show will also feature the American Dragon Bryan Danielson taking on the ‘Dragon Slayer’ Daniel Garcia in a highly-anticipated Two out of Three Falls Match. Dragon Lee will also be on the show when he teams with RUSH and Andrade El Idolo in the first round of the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament.
The trio are set to take on the Young Bucks and a mystery partner. It is widely believed that the mystery friend will be Kenny Omega. The Cleaner has been out of action since November after undergoing treatment to repair a litany of long-standing injury issues.
Matt Jackson of the Bucks teased Omega’s impending return on a recent episode of Being The Elite.
