Ricky Starks is reportedly set for a spell out of the ring after sustaining a neck injury.
According to a report from Voices of Wrestling, Starks is currently dealing with a fractured neck and will be out of action for around three months. Fightful followed up the report, adding that the injury is a “slight fracture.” While Starks will be unable to compete inside the ring, he is not expected to miss TV time and the injury doesn’t require surgery.
Starks was last in action on AEW Dynamite in a losing effort to Hangman Adam Page on April 21st. During the match, Starks landed heavily following a German Suplex, but later posted on Twitter that he was “fine.”
The Team Taz member later appeared on AEW Dark which was taped the day after Dynamite. However, during the tag match which saw Starks team with Powerhouse Hobbs to take on Aaron Frye and Brick Aldridge, Starks never tagged in.
Ricky Starks debuted in AEW answering Cody Rhodes’ TNT Title open challenge on June 17th 2020. While Starks tasted defeat on the night it was later revealed that he had signed with the company.
Starks later aligned with Brian Cage, Powerhouse Hobbs and Taz under the name Team Taz. The former NWA Television Champion enjoyed his most high profile outing to date, teaming with Cage to take on Sting and Darby Allin at AEW Revolution.
