Speaking in a new interview, Ricky Starks has revealed that he is now a permanent member of the AEW Rampage commentary team.
Ricky Starks made his debut at the Rampage announce desk on the September 17th edition of the show in place of Mark Henry. While the former World Champion still appeared as a backstage interviewer, Starks called the action alongside Excalibur, Chris Jericho and Taz.
Appearing on the WrestleTalk podcast, Starks has confirmed that the switch is going to be permanent. He went on to add that he’s proud of his work to date, but feels there’s more to achieve.
“I am definitely proud of AEW, the work that I’ve done in AEW, and the work that I continue to do. And the fact that I think so much that they appreciate me that they made me a permanent commentator for Rampage, replacing Mark (Henry).“So, I love that fact, I love the fact that the work that I’ve done with Sting, Darby (Allin), and all of these things in such a small timeframe, will last on forever.
“I want more though. I really do, I really want to push myself more and really explore the depths of my talent and get out of my comfort zone a bit.”
The upcoming episode of AEW Rampage is set to be one of the biggest in the show’s short history.
For the first-time ever the show will span two hours and will see the reuniting of The Superkliq for the first time in more than four and a half years. While Jon Moxley will team with Eddie Kingston to take on Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki in a Lights Out Match.
CM Punk will also compete in his first free-to-air televised match in over seven years as he takes on Team Taz’s strongman, Powerhouse Hobbs.
