Ricky Starks Clarifies Repeated Rumours From AEW Fans

Ricky Starks has broken his silence on a repeated topic of conversation amongst the AEW fanbase.

The former Tag Team Champion has not had a match in AEW for more than 5 months, last competing on an episode of Collision back in March alongside Big Bill. While some had suspected that Ricky Starks may be off TV as he had suffered an injury, Starks himself took to social media and stated that he was not injured and never was.

With Starks cleared to compete and still nowhere to be seen on TV, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive with fan theories regarding Stark’s status with the company and what the future holds. Two prevalent rumours that circulated regarding the former FTW Champion are that he is waiting out the remainder of his contract so that he can leave the company and that he has not been brought back due to refusing creative pitches. With the rumours continuing, Starks finally addressed the fans to silence the speculation.

On social media, one user wrote the following about Starks:

Literally anyone who is going to be pushed as a top champion needs to prove that they can handle the smaller things first. – The fact that his attitude when given the smaller opportunities was to pout and disagree with creative is the main reason why he didn’t get bigger shots.

Asking the fans to stop with the rumours, Starks quoted the post and responded with the following:

“Enough is enough. Usually I don’t even speak on this but it’s tired. I never turned down anything, EVER. Just Stop.”

Tony Khan Comments On Ricky Starks

With no signs of Starks making a return to TV anytime soon and with his contract status unknown to most, some had speculated that the former Tag Team Champion had already left the company. However, once again to clarify rumours, Tony Khan provided an update.

In a new interview, Ricky Starks has once again discussed his future.
