Ricky Saints is now a champion in WWE after just 3 matches in the company.
Competing on the April 1st episode of NXT, Saints defeated Shawn Spears to become the new North American Champion.
The closing moments of the match first saw Spears strike Saints with the title as the referee was distracted, only for Saints to kick out at 2. Saints then took out all members of The Culling before hitting a spear and the Roshambo to win the match and the title, ending Spears’ title reign at 28 days.
Unfortunately for Saints, the celebrations were short-lived as he was attacked by Ethan Page after the match. Page posed with the championship as the show went off the air.
Page has taken issue with Saints ever since the former AEW star made his arrival in WWE and signed the contract.
Ricky Saints Continues Positive Momentum
After being off AEW TV for most of 2024 for reasons unknown, the former Ricky Starks was released from his contract in February 2025 and made a shock appearance on NXT the next night. One week later, the former AEW Tag Team Champion signed the contract to reveal his new name of Ricky Saints.
While not yet announced, it is likely that the new North American Champion will put the title on the line at Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania weekend.
