Ricky Saints outlined a specific goal he wants to accomplish in WWE.
In January, reports emerged that Ricky Starks’ request to be released from AEW had been denied by Tony Khan despite the company having no long-term plans for the star. However, on February 10th, news broke that Starks was gone from AEW and was now “free and clear” to work elsewhere.
It didn’t take long for the star to do just that. Fans were shocked to see Ricky Starks make his NXT debut on the February 11th episode of NXT, making his entrance through the crowd and promising the shake things up in the brand. On February 18th, the star signed an NXT contract and revealed his new name to be Ricky Saints, a name closely tied to his hometown of New Orleans.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Busted Open, Saints was asked if he would accept the opportunity to move to WWE’s main roster soon if he were offered, and he revealed a major goal of his.
“Absolutely, I would. We have New Orleans, supposedly, rumored, right? WrestleMania, next year, New Orleans. I heard about the rumor. If the rumor is true, that is my goal. To wrestle in the Superdome. That’s all I want, and I’m going to make it happen. If that opportunity presents itself a month from now and that’s the lead up to it, I’m taking it. If it’s a month or 12 months, the impact of me in NXT will be felt. There is no doubt about that.”
“I’m Already On It” – Ricky Saints
Continuing, the former AEW Tag Team Champion made it clear that he’s already working toward the goal of wrestling inside the Superdome.
“It’s already happened. I’m already on it. When I watched Taker vs. John Cena, I said, ‘This will be the only time that I watch from a suite. The next time I’m here will be me wrestling at the Superdome.’ That’s already a thing that has happened, I’m just telling you in advance.”
Having now competed in his debut WWE match, Ricky Saints opened up about his debut.
