Rich Swann Vs. Kenny Omega Set For Rebellion Title For Title Clash

Kenny Omega vs Rich Swann

Rich Swann will challenge Kenny Omega at IMPACT’s Rebellion pay-per-view next month after defeating Moose to unify the IMPACT and TNA World Championships at Sacrifice!

On the final edition of IMPACT! before Sacrifice, IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore made a huge announcement regarding the show’s main event: IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose would face-off in the show’s main event to unify both titles, with the winner facing AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at Rebellion with both titles on the line!

After a gruelling, Swann would pick a shock win over his much larger opponent after dodging several spears with Moose eventually colliding with a steel chair propped up in the corner on his third attempt. Moose would try for a fourth but Swann would counter into a crucifix bomb followed up by a roll-up to pin the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and capture his title!

Both men have been on a collision course since ‘The Best Bout Machine’ begun appearing on IMPACT programming after winning AEW’s top prize at Winter Is Coming last year. In his very first appearance back in January, Omega would tease his intentions to challenge for Swann’s IMPACT title:

“I don’t mind if I had a Spiderman #1 in my collection. Who knows, maybe that’s the IMPACT Championship? You guys have a great champion, right? The thing is, I love travelling. I love the lifestyle that pro wrestling affords me and as long as I have [the AEW World Championship], I don’t mind having a little bit of fun in my spare time. Why not add a little bit to my collection, who knows?”

Meanwhile, Swann would tell Inside The Ropes’ own Gary Cassidy that a singles match between himself and the AEW World Champion would be “a masterpiece”:

“It’s something that I know that if we were in the ring, head-to-head, one-on-one, singles, no Good Brothers, no Moose, no Chris Sabin, just Kenny Omega and Rich Swann head-to-head, world champion versus world champion, we’re going to see a masterpiece.”

Elsewhere on Sacrifice – NJPW’s FinJuice dethroned The Good Brothers to win the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship and Ace Austin became a two-time X Division Champion!

Fans in the UK can catch up on everything that went down at Sacrifice, and watch Rebellion live on April 25th, via Fite TV.
