In recent weeks the wrestling world has been buzzing with news of Logan Paul’s clash with Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel 2022. Ahead of the match fans wondered what Paul might be capable of, and in the days after the match, everyone, including Ric Flair, were full of praise for his performance.

Speaking on a recent episode of his To Be The Man podcast, Flair discussed Logan Paul’s match against Reigns and compared him to other inexperienced performers.

“They’re Both Athletic As Hell” – Ric Flair

During the conversation, Flair compared Paul to another celebrity-turned sometime wrestler Pat McAfee. The former NFL star wrestled his first match in NXT against Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: XXX. He followed that up with an appearance in WarGames and a victory over Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38. Following all of these matches, McAfee received universal praise for his performances in light of his inexperience.

The Nature Boy said that Logan Paul and Pat McAfee were the two best three-match wrestlers that he had ever seen.

“You know, believe it or not, I can answer that question for you and say the answer is yes. It’s either him or Pat McAfee. And I think he might be better than bet McAfee. I mean, when I watched Pat McAfee in NXT I could not believe it. And everything was done when Pat wrestled too for not for not having that time, you know, those repetitions and I’m not sure how much practice is put into it.

But I mean, they’re [Paul brothers] athletic as hell. And once again, I’m telling you both those Paul brothers are tough kids? Just to get in the ring with Anderson Silva You have to be tough. Just don’t get in the ring with Mike Tyson.”

At WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Logan Paul was ultimately defeated by Roman Reigns, but he pushed the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion all of the way. Paul hit Reigns with a standing Moonsault, Buckshot Lariat and even a Frog Splash through the announce table. After the bout the YouTube star received props from the likes of Sean Waltman, Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss and more.
