A new report has claimed that Ric Flair is preparing to return to the ring despite celebrating his 73rd birthday just three months ago.
In recent weeks Ric Flair has shared a number of video clips on social media of him working out in the ring with Jay Lethal.
The WWE Hall of Famer shared the latest of these on May 13th, where he is shown taking a suplex, slam and brawling with the AEW star to a remix of the Rocky theme tune.
Many fans have wondered about the purpose of these videos, asking whether Flair is simply scratching his wrestling itch for the benefit of social media, or if it’s something more serious. Unbelievably, it appears that it’s actually the latter.
As reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Flair is training for a sensational return to the ring.
“Ric Flair is training to wrestle again,” Meltzer writes. “The stories about his return are accurate.”
Speaking in November 2021, Flair claimed that he could “absolutely” wrestle again, adding that he’s in better shape than when he wrestled Sting on the final episode of WCW Nitro in 2001.

16-time World Champion Ric Flair hasn’t wrestled since September 2011 when he was defeated by Sting in TNA. That match came more than three years after Flair had ‘retired’ at WrestleMania 24 where he was famously pinned by Shawn Michaels.
Ric Flair left WWE in August 2021, citing his unhappiness at his recent creative. He went on to appear at NWA 73, and AAA TripleMania where he served as a manager for his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo, locking a Figure-Four Leglock on Konnan.
Flair’s hasn’t made any major wrestling appearances since being seemingly accused of sexual assault by an air stewardess on an episode of Dark Side of the Ring addressing the ‘Plane ride from hell.’
Following the airing of the episode, a Car Shield commercial featuring Flair was “paused,” while his merchandise was removed by WWE and his signature “Wooooooo!” was removed from WWE’s opening TV package.
Ric Flair has denied all of the allegations made against him.
