Two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T has discussed his conversation with Ric Flair where Flair told him he was never going to retire from the wrestling business.
Ric Flair surprised many by requesting his release from WWE before the company went on record to confirm that they had parted ways with Flair on August 3rd.
Many fans have been speculating as to what might be next in the storied career of The Nature Boy, with many commenting that AEW is home to his former Four Horseman partners Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard as well as being home to Flair’s perennial rival, Sting.
Some may feel at 72 years old and after serious health issues in recent years, it might be time for Flair to enjoy his life and call time on his time in the sun.
However according to Booker T, Flair isn’t ready to ride off into the sunset quite yet, in fact, The Nature Boy might never be ready for that. Speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, the five-time WCW Champion revealed conversations he has had with Flair.
“My thing is this, Ric Flair is not the managerial type of guy, that’s just not his role, as well as Flair is not one of your guys that want to be in the office, coming to work every day, wearing a suit and going the office. Ric Flair is a party guy, that’s his nature. My thing is this, I talked to Ric Flair – usually on a regular case, Flair told me, ‘Book, I’m never going to retire.’ He said if I could be in that ring right now, that’s where I’d be. So I think Ric Flair may be looking for one last run.”
While it may be unlikely Flair could don his boots and robe one more time, he could find himself at the side of a younger charge in the same vein as Anderson, Blanchard, or Sting.
