Ric Flair Slammed From The Top Rope By Jay Lethal [Video]

After Ric Flair vowed to come off the top rope during his final match, footage has emerged of the Nature Boy practising the spot.

Despite not exactly being known for his top-rope prowess, the sight of the 16-time World Champion climbing the turnbuckle became a staple of any match featuring the star. Although Flair’s success rate when he arrived at those lofty heights was less than impressive, even becoming a running joke on commentary.

Over time, the WWE Hall of Famer being slammed from the top rope back to the mat, became one of his signature spots.

Although, the 16-time World Champion did land the occasional Double-Axe Handle from the top in his day. Emphasis on occasional.

As Flair prepares for what is being billed as his final match at Starrcast V in July, he surprised fans by promising that he would fly from the top rope one last time. To show just how serious the Nature Boy is, he has now shared footage of Jay Lethal slamming him from the top turnbuckle.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Ric Flair is back working with WWE on a brand new documentary. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer hasn’t worked with the company since August 2021 when he requested his release.

Since then Flair has been the cause of some controversy following allegations made during the Dark Side Of The Ring episode focussing on the infamous Plane Ride From Hell.

It has also been announced that Inside The Ropes’ very own Kenny McIntosh will be hosting a special panel at Starrcast V featuring Bret Hart, as he looks back on his legendary clash with the British Bulldog at SummerSlam 30 years ago.
