Ric Flair has had an extensive wrestling career that has spanned decades. He has made many friends over that time, but unfortunately time has opened as many wounds as it has healed.
There was a period not long ago when Flair appeared to be distancing himself from many people, including ones that he once considered close friends, or even his “best” friends.
However, some good news came out of Ric Flair’s recent To Be The Man Podcast (available via AdFreeShows) as he revealed he finally cleared the air with someone very close to him.
Personal matters between Ric Flair and Triple H “settled”
Triple H had long been a big fan of Flair’s and at one point, when they had their mini-feud in 2005, Flair called Triple H “my best friend”. However, a rift grew between them in recent years, and the two seemed to drift even further apart when Triple H retired and had his health issues last year.
But on RAW XXX this past Monday, Flair used his appearance on the show to take the opportunity to finally clear the air with Triple H.
“I mean, we both kind of went through the same thing. I didn’t realize to what extent he’s gone through and I didn’t realize and to what extent he’s been through. I do now.
I’m not gonna share, obviously. He was in a bad place just like I was. When you get there and you realize as only you can if you’ve been there, which hopefully nobody has to go through any time soon, that there’s so much more to it and it’s time to just look each other in the eye and talk about the issues, put them behind you, and hope that we get to each other tomorrow. He was like me and it took him a long time to get over it.”
On the same show, Flair also took the time to apologize to Becky Lynch over the row they had following the circumstances surrounding Lynch calling herself “The Man”.
