‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair has revealed the text he received from The Undertaker following the legend’s retirement at the 2020 Survivor Series.

On November 22, 2020, Ric Flair joined a host of former legends from The Undertaker’s past to bid a final farewell to ‘The Deadman’ as he stepped away from the industry after a momentous thirty year career.

However, in a recent interview with The Wrestling Inc. Daily Podcast, ‘Naitch’ told the story of how the real life Mark Calaway sent him a heartwarming text following the event to thank him for being his friend which read:

“Happy Thanksgiving Champ!! Thank you for carrying this business and setting the bar of greatness! The bar we all strived to reach and very few have even gotten close to! Then, now and forever you are ‘The Champ’!! So proud to call you my friend.”

Ric Flair and The Undertaker have a long and storied history together which began at the 1991 Survivor Series when ‘The Dirtiest Player in the Game’ aided ‘The Phenom’ in the capture of his first WWF Championship by sliding a steel chair under the head of Hulk Hogan prior to a Tombstone Piledriver.

In 2002 the pair re-ignited their rivalry on the Road to WrestleMania X8 when the ‘Big Evil’ version of The Undertaker attacked Flair’s son David during a wrestling training camp, forcing the sixteen time World Heavyweight Champion to accept a match on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All.’
