Ric Flair Reveals Who He Believes Will Beat His World Title Record

Ric Flair WWE Champion

Ric Flair has revealed who he believes will break his long-standing World Championship record.

Ric Flair and John Cena are neck and neck when it comes to world title reigns. They are the only 16-time world champions in WWE history, which is a historic record for the most world title reigns in professional wrestling history.

John Cena has been away from WWE Programming as he is now a megastar in Hollywood. The Cenation leader held his last WWE Championship in 2017 after he defeated The Phenomenal AJ Styles at that year’s Royal Rumble PPV.

Not too far behind Flair and Cena is 14-time world champion Randy Orton. It seems more likely for Orton to surpass the record because he is still currently with the company and he plans on not going anywhere anytime soon.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, The Nature Boy expressed why Randy Orton has a better shot at beating the record over John Cena.

“I don’t think so. I don’t think they will ever give it to a part-time performer. I think that Randy Orton has a better shot at it, Randy will come back, he has to have surgery. But I certainly wouldn’t be offended because the real number is 21. They all have a way to go. But I love John Cena, he is a such a credible performer and just one of the great guys in the business.”

Randy Orton is currently on the side-lines with an injury to his back that may even require surgery. The Viper was last in action on the May 20th edition of Friday Night SmackDown where he and his tag team partner Riddle took on The Usos in a Tag Team Championship Unification Match.
