Ric Flair has responded to the incredible speculation that Hulk Hogan has been lined up to be Flair’s opponent in his last ever match.
On May 16th it was confirmed that Ric Flair will be stepping back in the ring for one final match. Flair hasn’t wrestled since competing against Sting back in September 2011 during his stint with TNA.
A few names have been thrown out as Flair’s potential opponent with Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat confirming he won’t be renewing his epic rivalry with The Nature Boy.
Former WWE Superstar Brian Blair recently commented that he believed Flair was getting ready to face Hulk Hogan in what would surely be a headline-grabbing encounter.
Now speaking with Conrad Thompson on his To Be The Man podcast, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer responded to Thompson’s comments about the Hogan rumours and says although The Hulkster is invited to some of the festivities, he doesn’t expect to wrestle him:
“Not that I know. I think you would have run that by me…He’s invited. I’ve talked to him personally to come to the roast and come watch the match. But yeah, he hasn’t confirmed for sure but I’m pretty sure he’ll be there.”
Ric Flair’s last ever match will take place as part of Starrcast V, the wrestling convention that will run over the weekend of SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee in late July.
