Ric Flair Partnership With AEW Potentially Over

Ric Flair Partnership With AEW Seemingly Over

A partnership between Ric Flair and All Elite Wrestling has seemingly come to an end, which may also conclude The Nature Boy’s time with the company.

Back in November 2023, it was revealed that Ric Flair had signed a massive deal with All Elite Wrestling that was said to be “multi-year” following on from the Hall of Famer being presented as a gift from Tony Khan to Sting. Flair would make multiple appearances on TV and PPV alongside Sting in subsequent weeks as The Icon approached his retirement at AEW Revolution 2024 in March. However, despite the deal being for multiple years, Flair has not been seen since Sting’s last match.

Flair’s agreement with AEW was a unique one as a deal was struck between the wrestling company and Flair’s Wooooo! Energy as a sponsor. Similar to the agreement between WCW and Slim Jim that saw the promotion sign Randy Savage for free, Flair was also being paid by the sponsor and not by AEW. However, according to a new report, the partnership may have come to a premature end.

While Flair has not been seen on TV, graphics for Wooooo! Energy has remained a part of programming until recent weeks when the adverts were removed without explanation. As reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the deal between the two sides is seemingly over and with no explanation given:

Those who have pointed out no “Whoo! Energy” graphics on the screen of late, that is a smart observation and unless something changes it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing that going forward. There was no explanation given but unless something changes it does look like that deal is over with

It should also be noted that Wooooo! Energy has not been featured on any promotional graphics for upcoming matches on social media.

A new report has revealed why Ric Flair has departed from AEW, with it being said that the sponsorship deal between the two sides fell through.

Ric Flair Issues Apology

Despite being a key part of WCW, The former World Champion was not featured as a talking head in the recent docuseries Who Killed WCW? While Flair would initially call out the “Three-headed monster” who he felt was responsible, Ric Flair would later issue an apology.
