Ric Flair, the sixteen-time champion of the world has praised the former WWE Champion The Miz, saying that there will always be a place in wrestling for him.
Flair was talking on The Wrestling Inc. Daily when he was asked about Miz. In 2013, for a brief period, The Miz was mentored on-screen by Flair. This is the same time that Miz would start using the figure-four leg lock, as a tribute to The Nature Boy.
On the subject of The Miz, Flair commented:
“I have nothing but respect for him. He is a guy that’s come up and been. […] He is incredibly passionate about this business, and he cares so much. And even watching him last night walking around talking to himself for a half-hour preparing for the interview. I know that he’s had obstacles here, he’s overcome them all. He’s happily married. He’s got two kids, and there’s always going to be a place for a guy like him because he’s just that good a guy.”
The Miz would win his second WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber event in February. Miz would cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase following a devastating assault on Drew McIntyre by Bobby Lashley. The Miz’s reign would last only eight days as he was forced to defend the title against Lashley, where Miz would submit to Lashley’s Hurt Lock.
Ric Flair, the first 2-time WWE Hall of Famer also discussed who he wants to see break his title record. Flair is currently tied with John Cena with sixteen recognised world title reigns apiece.
