Back in June WWE announced that they were working with 16-time World Champion Ric Flair on a new documentary taking a deep dive into the life and times of the Nature Boy.
While details about the documentary remain thin on the ground, the two-hour feature promises to reveal new details about the life and career of one of wrestling’s most famous figures.
Ric Flair left WW back in August 2021 after requesting his release from he company, and hadn’t appeared on WWE television since that February. However, the announcement concerning the documentary led some fans to wonder whether Flair could find himself back with the company.
“This Will Be Better Than My 30 For 30 On ESPN” – Ric Flair
During a recent episode of his podcast, To Be The Man, Flair admitted that he would “love” to return to WWE, but was unsure whether a move would actually happen.
With regard to the upcoming documentary, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that the project will leave no stone unturned when looking back at his remarkable life.
“They’re doing this huge documentary on me now that’ll air either Thanksgiving week or the week before Christmas. I think they’re leaning towards Thanksgiving. Some names are going around but I think it’s called Finding Flair. This will be better than my 30 For 30 on ESPN because I made them promise me that whatever I said they wouldn’t edit. I’m not going to do something that’s going to be edited again.
It’s been passionate and I expressed everything that I thought was good or bad in my life. I discussed my personal life, my personal problem, family problems, wrestling problems. Issues with people that I’ve had. I just answered questions and I answered them as truthfully as I could. How big is when you have Tom Rinaldi doing it? I had 12 hours with Tom Rinaldi. He asked my every goddamn question in the world.”
Ric Flair brought down the curtain on his illustrious in-ring career on July 31st at a special event linked to Starrcast V, under the Jim Crockett Promotions banner. Despite insisting this was his last ever match, the star has hinted that he could be tempted to return in the future.
