Ric Flair has questioned what CM Punk and Bryan Danielson have contributed to AEW since joining the company.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is set to launch a new podcast alongside Mark Madden called the Wooooo Nation show. If that name sounds familiar it’s because Flair hosted a podcast of the same name through 2015 and 2016.
The 16-time World Champion has a longstanding relationship with Madden going back in a number decades. The new show will reportedly be focussed towards pro wrestling but will also discuss the top sports stories of the moment.
The first episode of the podcast will be released on November 17th, but Flair has now released a teaser of what listeners can expect.
In the clip, Flair questions what CM Punk and Bryan Danielson have contributed to AEW since joining the company in August and September respectively. The Nature Boy pointed at the recent television ratings, to make his point.
“Well, if I’m looking at the ratings, I don’t know what they’ve contributed.”
CM Punk signed with AEW on August 20th making his debut on a special episode of AEW Rampage. The show titled The First Dance was held at the United Center in Chicago which is also the famously home of the Chicago Bulls NBA franchise.
The episode marked Punk’s first wrestling appearance in more then seven years after leaving WWE in January of 2014. For years previously, Punk had insisted that he would never return to the ring.
Since that historic night, Punk has remained undefeated in AEW, most recently defeating Eddie Kingston at Full Gear.
Meanwhile, Bryan Danielson joined the company less than a month later debuting at All Out on September 5th, confronting Kenny Omega. Danielson has also remained undefeated since arriving in the company, a run which has included an acclaimed time-limit draw against then AEW Champion Kenny Omega.
At Full Gear, Danielson became the number one contender for the AEW World Championship after defeating Miro.
