Ric Flair Claims It’s “More Likely” WWE Legend Returns Instead Of Dwayne Johnson

Ric Flair

Ric Flair is something of an expert when it comes to wrestling comebacks.

Despite his in-ring career seemingly being over more than once, Flair has repeatedly returned to action. His most recent ‘final match’ came on July 31st, 2022 when he teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.

Another man who made a return to the ring in 2022 was Stone Cold Steve Austin, whose match with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 ended his own 19-year retirement. Austin’s match with Owens went so well that it was later revealed that WWE had offered him the chance to wrestle again. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that there have been pitches made for bouts with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39.

It has also been speculated that Dwayne Johnson could be in action at the show in a huge match with Roman Reigns. However, there have been reports that the match is now unlikely as Johnson doubts he will be able to get into wrestling shape.

Ric Flair Discusses Potential WWE Return For The Rock

Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair questioned the prospect of either man competing at WrestleMania.

“Obviously [Johnson] looks like a million dollars, as does Steve [Austin].” Flair said about the possibility of Rock not being in “ring shape,” and noting that neither man needs the money. “[Steve will] only do it if he wants to do it. As far as The Rock goes, obviously he doesn’t need the money, and if he did it, I don’t see him doing a favor, and why would he?”

Although Flair added that it’s “more likely” that Austin will return that The Rock.

During a recent interview, Roman Reigns had his say on the rumours that Dwayne Johnson will be standing across the ring from him at WrestleMania 39.
