Ric Flair has claimed that WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam has tried to damage his reputation with comments he made in regards to Flair’s behaviour on Dark Side Of The Ring.
On the episode analysing the ‘Plane Ride from Hell,’ a flight attendant seemingly alleged that she was sexually harassed by Ric Flair.
The ‘Plane Ride from Hell’ took place following the UK exclusive pay-per-view Insurrextion in May 2002. During the now infamous flight, several performers were involved in incidents that would result in fines, lawsuits and, in the cases of Scott Hall and Curt Hennig, releases from the company.
Ric Flair responded to a post about Van Dam’s comments on social media, writing:
“A Man Tried To Destroy My Reputation Based On An Assumption. I Don’t Even Know What To Say Right Now.”
During the episode, RVD made a comment he made about Flair “trying to make [the flight attendant] touch him,” but has himself taken to social media to clarify and contextualise his remarks:
“Just watched DSOTR. Heavy. Some insight for those who can handle it- 1) I haven’t seen Ric Flair’s d*ck. My comment about fans shouldn’t see him doing the helicopter was a response to DSOTR telling me that’s what they were told. They shouldn’t. I don’t want to see it either.”
“2) I said “trying to make her touch him” referring to his body crowding her space and her backing up like bad breath was in her face.I thought maybe they were playing(from seeing a similar scene at the hotel bar)but I wasn’t interested in naked Ric. Still ain’t.I tried to sleep.”
Flair then posted an image of a further Tweet from Rob Van Dam where the former ECW Champion states he did not see some of the behaviour Flair was accused of:
