Ric Flair has once again addressed the topic of potentially getting in the ring one more time.
In 2022, The Nature Boy competed for the 5,023rd time at a pay-per-view built around his final match. When all was said and done, many found the match hard to watch and Flair also admitted that he passed out twice during the contest due to dehydration.
One year later, the Hall of Famer made his AEW debut as he was revealed to be Tony Khan’s gift as part of Sting’s retirement. When it was announced that Flair was All Elite, fans were concerned that Flair may attempt to step back into the ring one more time to try and improve on the 2022 bout and go out on a high.
While Flair did get physical in Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution against The Young Bucks, he never had an official match in All Elite Wrestling.
Appearing on The Five Star Podcast, Flair stated that once Tony Khan found out about his health conditions, a match was out of the question:
“Once Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring,”
When the 75-year-old Flair was asked if he had one more match in him, the 16-time World Champion believed that he could still go in the ring:
“Hell yeah, I do.”
Ric Flair Talks John Cena’s Retirement Tour
2025 will see John Cena embark on his lengthy WWE retirement tour that will culminate in December. As Cena is currently tied with Flair with 16 World Championships, fans are predicting that Cena could win a 17th title and break the all-time record. In a previous interview, Ric Flair stated that one WWE moment would be even bigger than John Cena becoming a 17-time World Champion.
In recent news, plans for Ric Flair’s return to AEW at Collision have seemingly been scrapped.
H/t to Fightful.
