Despite criticism from elsewhere and a number of serious allegations, Ric Flair has remained steadfast in his support of Vince McMahon.
The remarkable Vince McMahon story took another turn on January 6th when he returned to WWE’s Board of Directors. This was after a previous comeback had been thwarted by the Board.
McMahon returned to the company with Michelle Wilson and George Barrios and removed JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey R. Speed and Alan M. Wexler from the Board. In response to this move, Ignace Lahoud and Man Jit Singh resigned from this positions immediately. It was reported that Man Jit Singh was the lead investigator on the internal Vince McMahon investigation.
It has since been confirmed that the pair left as a direct result of Vince McMahon coming back.
Ric Flair Backs Vince McMahon’s Latest Boardroom Move
Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair defended McMahon’s return and that of Barrios and Wilson. Flair welcomed the return of the two Directors who had been with the company previously, while questioning what those who quit even knew about wrestling.
“What does he know about wrestling? That’s my answer. What are the two people that got fired know about wrestling? I mean, that just goes on in business everywhere. I don’t know, how in the hell people know nothing about wrestling and get a board of directors, except just to be in an appointed position and say yes, or say no. Does that make sense? Michelle and George will express their opinion. I know it, I’ve heard it, that’s one of the reasons they probably were gone for a while. Something that someone didn’t want to hear.”
During the episode Ric Flair also stated that he was “glad” that McMahon is back before calling for him to appear on the upcoming 30th anniversary of Monday Night Raw.
