Ric Flair is no stranger to controversy, particularly in recent years. In 2021, allegations of sexual harassment resurfaced following a Dark Side Of The Ring episode on the infamous ‘Plane Ride From Hell’. Flair denies ever forcing himself on anyone.

The controversy led to Flair’s removal from the WWE Signature Open, in addition to his merchandise being removed from the company’s online store. Almost a year later, however, he was reinstated in both regards and even went on to have a short stint in AEW.

But it seems the resurfaced controversies keep on coming for The Nature Boy. Cary Silkin, the former long-time owner of Ring of Honor, took to X yesterday to hit out at the 75-year-old for failing to pay back $41,000 after missing four separate appearances for the promotion.

Please pay me back th 41K you owe me for failing to appear at 4 signing. sincerely Cary Silkin.

Responding later to a fan who encouraged him to call out Flair, Silkin admitted he was disappointed with the move as Flair was one of his wrestling heroes and claimed he was the worst wrestling legend he ever worked with.

That was the thing one of my greatest wrestling heroes turned out to be the lowest scumbag all the people I dealt with. Nobody screwed me. We’re talking Brett Hart Bruno Bobby Hennan Mick Foley Ricky steamboat Dusty Rhodes. Everybody was a pleasure except [Ric Flair].

Silkin filed a lawsuit against Flair over the incident in January 2010. However, the suit was dropped in May 2011 when the company was sold to Sinclair Broadcasting.

In a new interview, Ric Flair stated that one WWE moment would be bigger than John Cena winning a 17th championship.
