Ric Flair Believes WWE Is A “Better Fit” For Current AEW Champion

Ric Flair Believes WWE Is A

Ric Flair recently shared his thoughts on Mercedes Mone‘s future. He believes WWE would be a “better fit” for the AEW star at this point in her career.

Since debuting in AEW in March 2024, Mone has remained undefeated in the ring with an impressive 15-0 record. However, Flair doesn’t believe that AEW is the right place for her in the long run.

“Right now, I do [think WWE is a better fit], yeah, because she doesn’t have that many good opponents over there [in AEW].”

Flair explained during an appearance on Busted Open Radio.

“Everybody’s good. To be in the business, you’ve got to be good, but to be great, that encompasses a whole different word. ‘Great’ and ‘good’—you know what I mean? And I truly believe she’ll end up over there [back in WWE].”

Flair’s comments echo similar sentiments shared by other wrestling figures like Tommy Dreamer and Thunder Rosa, who both believe that AEW’s current women’s division lacks someone who can believably dethrone Mone as TBS Champion. Mone is set to defend her title against Harley Cameron at AEW Grand Slam Australia on February 15.

Which Fellow Wrestling Legend Has Begged Ric Flair To Stay Out Of The Ring For Good?

Jake “The Snake” Roberts spoke about the notion of Ric Flair wrestling another “final match” and urged the fellow wrestling legend to stay away from the ring. Roberts was then asked if he thinks Flair is damaging his wrestling legacy by trying to re-capture his former glory in his mid-70s, to which Roberts responded with a resounding yes.
