Ric Flair has issued an apology.
Former promotion WCW has once again become a topic of conversation in the wrestling world due to the new VICE documentary Who Killed WCW? premiering at the start of June. With notable names from the company including Bret Hart, Kevin Nash and DDP all recounting the biggest triumphs and disasters in the company’s history, the debate of who was responsible for its demise has been revived more than 23 years after WCW closed down.
Staying silent on the subject and not asked to be one of the talking heads, Ric Flair went on a social media tirade where he called out Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo and Jim Herd for the death of WCW and described them collectively as a “three-headed monster.” In a follow-up post, Flair is looking to mend fences as he issued a lengthy apology:
A Very Important Person In My Life Reminded Me Yesterday That Twitter Is The Weakest Form Of Communication. I Want To Take This Opportunity To Apologize To Jim Herd, @EBischoff, And @THEVinceRusso Because I Really Don’t Know. I Unfairly Judged You Without Knowing The Inner Workings And Behind The Scenes Of The Business On The Corporate End With People You Had To Report To And Work With. I Wish On A Personal Note That All 3 Of Us Could Have Worked Together And Had Better Relationships!
For Vince Calling Me The GOAT, I Appreciate That & You Did Help My Son To Pursue His Dream In Wrestling. I Am Going To Do Eric Bischoff’s Podcast, But It Won’t Be To Bury Anybody. It’s To Discuss Our Differences! @TheRock Is Making A Movie On My Life, And I’m In A Great Place! I Hope This Can All Be Put Behind Us!
Responding to the post, Vince Russo stated that he had no ill will towards The Nature Boy:
Life is way too short to hold any Grievances, Ric. Honestly, at this Point I don’t have any animosity towards anybody and I am at Total Peace. I appreciate your words this morning more than you will ever know. God Bless You, Sir.
Ric Flair Thanks The Rock
Although the 16-time World Champion will not be a guest on Who Killed WCW? he will be the subject of a future project that is also produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions as it was announced that a Ric Flair biopic is in the works.
