Rhea Ripley will take on Raquel González at NXT Halloween Havoc on October 28.
NXT General Manager William Regal made the match official on this week’s episode of NXT after the two powerhouses clashed backstage at the Capitol Wrestling Center.
González issued a challenge to Ripley, who was quick to accept but took issue with González boasting about being. “the biggest and baddest woman in the industry”, before a brawl ensued between both women.
Raquel González vs. Rhea Ripley is only the second women’s match to be announced for NXT Halloween Havoc, with Candice LeRae set to challenge Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s Championship after a victory against Shotzi Blackheart earned her the number one contender spot and a second chance at dethroning the ‘Genius of the Sky’.
LeRae might not be the underdog that she was at NXT TakeOver 31, however. In defeating Shotzi Blackheart on this week’s NXT, she appeared to have been handed a set of brass knuckles from Indi Hartwell.
William Regal also announced that Johnny Gargano will challenge Damian Priest for the NXT North American Championship, after Priest retained his title over Dexter Lumis this week.
In keeping with the WCW theme, NXT are bringing back the ‘Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal’ gimmick for the show, where the stipulations for both title matches will be decided by the spin of a wheel.
