Rhea Ripley Gets Tough With Dominik Mysterio, North American Title Rematch Set

A highly-anticipated rematch for the coveted NXT North American Championship between Dominik Mysterio and Trick Williams has been confirmed for the October 3rd episode of NXT.

The announcement came during the October 2nd edition of WWE Raw, as Rhea Ripley made her return to address the issues plaguing the Judgment Day faction. Ripley’s absence from Raw in recent weeks was due to a vicious attack by Nia Jax following a successful WWE Women’s Championship defence against Raquel Rodriguez.

Ripley wasted no time in challenging Damian Priest, who sarcastically inquired about the whereabouts of Dominik Mysterio’s lost NXT North American Championship. In a surprising turn of events, Ripley revealed that she had secured a rematch for Mysterio against Trick Williams, the current title holder. However, Ripley didn’t mince words, warning Mysterio that if he failed to bring the championship back home, he might as well not come back at all.

Mysterio, who initially won the North American title in July, will be eager to reclaim his championship reign, while Williams will undoubtedly be determined to prove that his victory was no fluke.

When Did Dominik Mysterio Lose The NXT North American Title?

Dominik Mysterio lost the North American title on September 30th at NXT No Mercy. Rhea Ripley was absent from her usual place at ringside in Mysterio’s match due to her injury angle.

This left Mysterio to fend for himself, leading to his defeat at the hands of Williams with Dragon Lee as the special guest referee. Williams capitalised on the opportunity and emerged victorious, claiming the North American title for the first time in his career.
