Rhea Ripley has reflected on the night The Judgment Day imploded.
Siding with Edge and Damian Priest in 2022, Ripley would remain with the group for over 2 years and experience the highs and lows of her own career and that of the group. During The Judgment Day’s most successful iteration, Ripley, Priest, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio all held championships and looed to be unbeatable as a united front.
However, following months of gradual tension building up, the decisions of Mysterio and Balor would cause irreparable damage. Beginning with Mysterio betraying Ripley in the opening match in favour of Liv Morgan, Balor would later cost Priest the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther, signalling the end of The Terror Twins’ time in the faction.
Looking back on her time within the group and the breakup while appearing on The Wrestling Classic, the former Women’s Champion stated that the group was a family to her and that she was upset backstage after the events of SummerSlam occurred:
“The Judgment Day was really family to me. It really was. It has helped my career so much more than I could actually put into words. That was when I started opening up and feeling comfortable going out there and being in front of the crowd. I had the boys and could fall back on. It was really emotional for me. I saw something come out about Judgment Day members, a specific one crying backstage after everything. I’m not ashamed of it. That was me. I was upset. The last two and a half years of my life has changed now. I can’t go back to that. They were my boys and my family. It was really sad.
At the same time, when something so good comes to an end, the other side of it is something amazing is about to start as well. I wasn’t really thinking about that because I was so emotional. That was the most fun I’ve had in my career in a long time. I felt invincible. I felt I could go out there and be a cheeky little menace and get away with it, for real, and have fun with my friends. I loved my time with the Judgment Day. Now, I’m loving my time absolutely brutalizing the Judgment Day. They are not the real Judgment Day. They are street trash.”
Rhea Ripley Responds To Dominik Mysterio Challenge
Although Ripley is hoping that she can finally win back the Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan at Bad Blood, fans are still optimistic that The Eradicator will also get her revenge on Dominik Mysterio. With many calling for an intergender match between the two, Mysterio claimed that he would be open to it, to which Rhea Ripley responded.
In other WWE news, Otis has looked back on his Money in the Bank victory.
