Rhea Ripley Awarded New WWE Women’s Championship

Rhea Ripley on WWE Raw

June 12th was another big night in the WWE career of Rhea Ripley.

Since joining forces with Judgment Day and eventually Dominik Mysterio, Ripley’s star has arguably never shone brighter. While her name value has never been bigger, in the ring, the Australian star has never been more dominant.

This dominance arguably reached a peak at WrestleMania 39 when she defeated Charlotte Flair to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. In the process, she became the first woman to win the NXT UK, NXT, SmackDown, and Raw Women’s Titles.

After a couple of crushing title defences, Adam Pearce opened the June 12th edition of Raw by bringing out Ripley. Once in the ring, The Nightmare was presented with a new Women’s World Championship belt, which replaced the SmackDown Women’s Title. The move comes after Asuka was also presented with a new championship on SmackDown, and she will be known as the WWE Women’s Champion.

Rhea Ripley To Lead Dom-Dom Into Battle At Money In The Bank

After being presented with her new championship Rhea Ripley was joined by Dominik Mysterio to celebrate. However, the party wouldn’t last for long. The pair were interrupted by Cody Rhodes who quickly challenged Mysterio to a match at Money In The Bank after being on the end of a cheap shot the week before.

Ripley accepted the match on Mysterio’s behalf, and it was later confirmed that Dom-Dom will square off with Rhodes in London, England.

Still reigning as the champion in October, Rhea Ripley was announced as the number one Women’s Wrestler in the PWI 250.
