Rey Mysterio Told Rising Star To Tone Down Their Moveset

Rey Mysterio

Having been seen as one of the best high-flyers in wrestling history, Rey Mysterio knows the dangers of a high-risk moveset better than most.

That’s why he is in a great position to advise the Mexican sensation, El Hijo del Vikingo on how to prolong his own burgeoning career.

On the most recent edition of his ‘Keepin’ it 100′ podcast, Konnan revealed that Mysterio had done just that. When asked if he had told Vikingo to tone down his moveset, he confirmed he had, and that he had asked Mysterio to do the same.

“Not only have I told him, I had Rey Mysterio tell him. He already needs a knee operation and Rey has had 14, so I told him to talk to Rey and Rey’s giving him very good advice because I want that guy to last. He’s talented and he’s a good kid.”

Vikingo recently made a huge splash on his AEW debut, taking on Kenny Omega on the March 22nd edition of Dynamite.

Rey Mysterio overcame painkiller addiction

Rey Mysterio has spoken about the effects of the multiple surgeries he has gone through over the years, revealing that he once went through an addiction to painkillers.

The star opened up about that period of his life on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive YouTube show, saying things got to the point where his wife gave him an ultimatum.

“She goes, ‘So when we get back home, you can either take your pills or you can take your family. You choose.’”

Thankfully, Mysterio chose his family and spoke to Vince McMahon the following day to arrange time off for rehab, something he was immediately granted.
