Rey Mysterio is set to make his appearance on WWE NXT on August 8th.
As Dominik Mysterio continues to prove himself as the NXT North American Champion, he now faces the challenge of battling Dragon Lee on the upcoming August 8th episode of NXT.
The confrontation between Dominik, Dragon Lee, and Rhea Ripley on the August 1st episode of NXT sparked the upcoming match. Dragon Lee accused Dominik of allowing Ripley to hold his “cojones” in her purse, leading to a heated exchange.
In response, Dominik agreed to defend his title against Lee on August 8th. Ripley declared that she will be in Dominik’s corner for the match, showing her support for Dominik. However, Dragon Lee had a trump card up his sleeve, revealing that he would have none other than Dominik’s father Rey Mysterio in his corner.
This revelation adds another layer of intrigue to the match, as it brings Rey back into the mix. The relationship between Rey and Dominik has been strained, with Dominik turning on his father and joining forces with Ripley and The Judgement Day.
Despite their differences, Rey had expressed pride in his son’s accomplishments on WWE’s The Bump, including his recent North American Championship win. Rey has also indicated that he would be willing to take the title away from Dominik if they were to face each other again.

Is Rey Mysterio Injured?
Rey appeared to be injured during a match with Santos Escobar on the July 28th episode of SmackDown. Escobar hit a dive to Rey who was on the outside and it appeared that Rey may have hit his head on the ground after receiving the move. The show went to a commercial break and when it returned the match was called off with Escobar being declared the winner.
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Rey Mysterio, stating that he was fine. Ina new interview, the WWE United States Champion stated that he intends to retire within the next couple of years.
