Rey Mysterio Provides Injury Update

On the most recent edition of Talking Smack, Rey Mysterio provided an update on the injury that is currently keeping him out of action.

At WWE Payback, Mysterio suffered torn triceps in a bout where he and Dominik battled Rollins and Murphy in the match of the night. He has been sidelined ever since.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio made their debut on Friday Night SmackDown this past week after being drafted to the blue brand in the recent 2020 WWE Draft. On the show, the pair confronted their old nemesis, Seth Rollins.

Following the episode, Rey had this to say about his absence from active competition:

“There’s no reason why I won’t be back to the ring soon. I was a bit concerned in the beginning since the procedure [post surgery] was slow and it took time for me to recuperate. But, I’m already at 99 percent. So, I’m looking for bigger things to come.”

It has been reported that WWE moved their three most important feuds from the red brand in order to attain higher viewing figures on FOX. Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins was one of those rivalries.

During his appearance on Talking Smack, Rey was questioned about Murphy and his daughter Aalyah who have been embroiled in a romantic storyline as part of the Mysterio/Rollins saga.

“There’s a twist and turn now with Murphy trying to get on my daughter’s side, which I take issue with. With Seth [Rollins] and Murphy also on SmackDown, we can finish something we began on Raw. While I want to get done with it, [this rivalry] will continue until its over.”

However, Rey and Dominik Mysterio’s quest to end ‘The Greater Good’ that is now Seth Rollins became more complicated when Daniel Bryan became involved in the rivalry.
