Rey Mysterio’s rivalry with his son Dominik is far from over.
At WrestleMania 39, the newly inducted WWE Hall of Famer would triumph over The Judgment Day member thanks to Bad Bunny preventing Ex Con Dom from utilising a steel chain while the referee was distracted.
Rey Mysterio Would Put Iconic Mask At Stake In Another Match Against Dominik
With the singles match now in the books, the next time that the father and son will stand on opposite sides of the ring from one another will be at the Backlash Premium Live Event in a tag team match. The upcoming bout to be confirmed looks set to be Rey Mysterio teaming with the Grammy award winning rap star to take on Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest.
If a loss on the grandest stage was not embarrassing enough for Dominik, father Rey has another idea to humiliate his son even further, to shave the head of his former tag team partner.
Speaking with Logan Paul on the Impaulsive podcast, the former World Heavyweight Champion revealed that he has thought about putting his legendary mask on the line in a mask vs. hair match against his son.
“Maybe I put my mask on the line against his hair, which is some lucha culture. If I lose that, I take my mask off. If he loses, he shaves his hair off. That might be interesting,”
Paul then asked Mysterio if Dominik was open to the idea, to which Rey responded by stating that the former convict should put his money where his mouth is.
“He talks a lot of crap. Why not? Back it up.”
WWE have previously presented mask vs. mask and hair vs. hair matches in the promotion, but rarely has a mask vs. hair stipulation. The only mask vs. hair match that has taken place in WWE was on the pre-show of the 2014 Payback pay-per-view, which saw El Torito defeat Hornswoggle.
In 2002, Edge would defeat Kurt Angle at the Judgment Day pay-per-view in a hair vs. hair match to earn the right to shave the Olympic Gold Medalist bald.
