During an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins made a bold statement, declaring Rey Mysterio as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Seth Rollins joined Logan Paul on his podcast, Imapulsive on July 18th, where he discussed many topics, including his opinion on WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. Rollins praised the longevity of Mysterio’s career and marvelled at how the 48-year-old is still able to compete at a high level. Rollins said:
He is just unreal. I mean, that guy, I think he turns 50 soon. And like what are we talking about? Watch him in the ring. It’s unbelievable, he hasn’t aged a day.
Rollins went on to discuss his potential pro wrestling Mount Rushmore and said there is definitely a strong argument that Mysterio deserves a place on that prestigious list, despite Rollins stating that Mysterio’s promo skills may not compare to some of the greats such as Stone Cold, The Rock or even Hulk Hogan. Rollins stated:
He’s not like a great promo, he’s not like a, you know, a Rock an Austin a Hogan. Like he’s not on that [level]. But he is, if you look at the totality of his career and the influence that he’s had for over generations, I say one the greatest. You could arguably include him on a Mount Rushmore, if you want to go that far.
Has Seth Rollins Wrestled Rey Mysterio?
Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio have crossed paths many times in recent history. The first time the two faced each other in the ring was way back in 2013 when Rey teamed with The Usos to take on The Sheild in a winning effort.
Since his Shield days, Rollins has faced Mysterio more recently in a feud the pair had in 2020, which involved the Eye for an Eye match they had at Extreme Rules on July 19th, where to become the winner of the match you had to remove your opponent’s eyeball. This match garnered a four-star rating from Dave Meltzer.
