Rey Mysterio is looking to add more gold to his collection and settle what has become a very personal score as he challenged Roman Reigns to face him inside Hell In A Cell.
Mysterio and his son Dominik have unwittingly become embroiled in Reigns’ own family drama as he tries to reign in cousin Jimmy Uso to stand with him and his right-hand man, Jey Uso. Last week on SmackDown ‘The Head Of The Table’ interjected himself in the SmackDown Tag Team Title match between The Mysterios and The Usos. Reigns made his presence felt as he took his frustrations out on the younger Mysterio.
Now Dominik’s father, the former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio is looking for revenge. Mysterio challenged Reigns to meet him inside the demonic structure, calling the WWE Universal Champion a “rat b*stard.”
Before Reigns could respond to Mysterio’s challenge, the cruiserweight legend launched an attack of his own on Reigns. Mysterio laid into The Tribal Chief with a kendo stick before getting caught with a Superman Punch to his masked face. Before Reigns could split Rey in half with a spear, Dominik Mysterio appeared with a kendo stick of his own as he sought to protect his father.
Unfortunately for Dominik, Reigns was able to catch him and launched him like a javelin over the top rope out of the ring to the unforgiving floor. Roman Reigns has still not officially answered the challenge but it looks like he will be defending his WWE Universal Title against Rey Mysterio at WWE’s next pay-per-view event. If that is the case this will mark Rey Mysterio’s first match inside Hell In A Cell.
Should the match take place it will join Bobby Lashley defending his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Hell In A Cell. Rhea Ripley also defends her Raw Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair puts her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Bayley.
