Former AEW Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix looks set to miss AEW’s upcoming collaboration with NJPW, June’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
On the April 20th edition of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that the relationship between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling would be moving to a new level. The result is a super-show that will be held on June 26th at the United Center in Chicago.
On May 5th the pre-sale began for AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door show, with over 11,000 being sold in a matter of minutes. This puts the event on the verge of a sell-out with only a small amount of tickets being held back for general sale on May 6th.
While many fans hoping to attend the event may have missed out on tickets, one AEW star looks set to miss out as well with Rey Fenix being advertised for a AAA show on the same day.
Rey Fenix has been announced on social media for AAA’s next event in the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico where he is set to team with Arez to take on Johnny Caballero – recent AEW debutant Johnny Elite – and Abismo Negro Jr.
