Rey Fenix Breaks Silence On AEW Contract Status

Rey Fenix in AEW

Rey Fenix has given a cryptic update on his current AEW contract status.

Fenix has been absent from TV since July, and hasn’t been seen in the ring since teaming with PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo in a Best Two Out Of Three Falls Trios match at CMLL Super Viernes the same month.

In August, it emerged that the Lucha Bros had been in talks with WWE despite still being under contract with AEW. Before that news broke, there had reportedly been plans for them to win the Trios Titles alongside PAC at All In. However, the pair have not been seen since, and PAC has gone on to join Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.

While both Fenix and Penta’s contracts were originally set to end at the same time, time has now added injury time to Fenix’s deal, meaning he will remain with the promotion until the summer of 2025.

In a post on Instagram Live, Fenix addressed his current situation, saying “we must wait” and stressing the importance of professionalism.

“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We must wait. Professionalism first and foremost, folks.

“We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out. Never diminish our work.

“There are things that should always be respected, and many are forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.”

Rey Fenix’s Brother Penta El Zero Miedo No Longer Under AEW Contract

While Rey Fenix will remain with All Elite Wrestling for the foreseeable future, Penta El Zero Miedo is reportedly “effectively a free agent.”

According to Fightful Select, there is heavy interest in securing the services of Penta for marquee matches on the independent scene.
