Rey Fenix Breaks Silence Amid AEW Contract Situation

Rey Fenix

Rey Fenix has shared his thoughts amid his AEW absence.

As Penta El Zero Miedo parts ways with All Elite Wrestling, his brother Fenix still seems to continue his time with the promotion. With Penta’s name now removed from AEW’s internal roster, uncertainty still looms over Fenix’s status.

With the recent developments around his contract situation, Fenix has opened up. With more injury time getting added to his contract, Fenix has been kept at the promotion despite not being used on television.

Responding to a Tweet criticizing Tony Khan’s decision to keep Fenix on the roster and not use him, the former champion replied:

I will have my chance to speak the truth.”

Soon after, Fenix shared another Tweet on (X) and claimed:

No one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment.

With all the injury time added to Fenix’s contract, fans can expect it to run well into 2025 before he can join his brother outside the Jacksonville-based promotion. The Lucha Brothers were reportedly set to sign with WWE upon finishing their time with Khan’s promotion.

On the December 7th edition of Collision, AEW provided an update on two of their other absent stars.

Rey Fenix Had Previously Commented On His AEW Contract Situation

A few days ago, amid his ongoing contract situation, Rey Fenix decided to address the situation. Speaking on his Instagram Live, Fenix commented on the scenario and stressed the importance of professionalism.

“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We must wait. Professionalism first and foremost, folks. We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out. Never diminish our work. There are things that should always be respected, and many are forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.”

In a series of follow-up posts, Rey Fenix has provided more clarity on the matter.
