According to a new report, a recently returned WWE Superstar was a “heat magnet” backstage but crucially, not with WWE boss, Triple H.
Ten months on from their first main roster appearance, and nine months on from their WWE departure, Hit Row is back on SmackDown. The team of Top Dolla and Ashante “Thee” Adonis made their surprise return on August 12th flanked by B-Fab and made short work of two local talents.
On August 11th it was reported that Top Dolla was scheduled to be at SmackDown as Triple H continues to reshape WWE’s main roster. The star originally signed with WWE back in January 2020 before joining forces with Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in NXT five months later. After the duo came together, the following week they were joined by Ashante “Thee” Adonis, and B-Fab, creating Hit Row.
The quartet was called up to the main roster as part of the WWE Draft in October 2021, but all four members were released a month later.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed the impending return of the group and how Top Dolla was seemingly a “heat magnet” backstage before the group was let go for the first time:
“What I heard was – and I did not hear this from one person, this was a lot of people – it’s not really a secret and I think it was talked about when they were released. This Top Dolla was a heat magnet dude, he was a heat magnet. And the way it was described to me was, he knows the right people to not be a heat magnet with and Triple H was one of them.”
“When people talked to Triple H about Top Dolla, Triple H was like ‘he’s cool to me’ so he pushed him and did all the stuff they did and there were a lot of people who really didn’t like Top Dolla so he ended up being released and now he’s coming back.”
