Report: WWE RAW Feud Far From Done

WWE RAW arena 2025

A former World Champion’s quest for WWE’s prestigious belt is far from over, despite a crushing loss in Paris this past Monday.

For a few months now on WWE TV, AJ Styles has been a thorn in Dominik Mysterio’s side. Styles is well aware he is in the twilight of his in-ring career and is hell-bent on taking the Intercontinental Championship away from the third-generation star.

It has been nearly half a century since the company–then the WWF, under Vince McMahon Sr’s control–introduced the IC Title. While the belt is pursued by new stars as a launching pad to main event status, there are various examples of when big stars valued its pursuit.

Veteran Sheamus recently expressed sadness at the missed opportunity to cap off his rivalry with Gunther at WrestleMania XL. The Irishman had been chasing the IC Title for over a year at that point. It seems AJ Styles shares a similar sentiment, as he wants that one story that fits right as his last ride before he disappears into the sunset. The question now is, will he dethrone “Dirty” Dom?

WWE Plans To Continue The AJ Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio Feud Over IC Title

AJ Styles had been chasing Dominik Mysterio’s championship for several weeks before finally getting his shot at SummerSlam last month. They put on a show at the event, but it wasn’t AJ’s night. The former WWE Champion received another shot at the gold this week in Paris, but unfortunately for him, Dom is a resourceful man. With the help of El Grande Americano, Mysterio retained.

PWInsider reports that WWE Creative will continue the ongoing IC Title program through the upcoming AAA Worlds Collide pay-per-view.

AAA Worlds Collide is scheduled for September 12 and will be headlined by Dominik Mysterio challenging for the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo. A potential interference from The Phenomenal One at the event is not out of the realm of possibility.
