Report Claims WWE Hold An Interest In Signing FTR

With FTR enjoying arguably the best run of their careers, a new report has suggested that WWE are interested in re-signing the pair formerly known as The Revival.

FTR currently stand as both the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions and the AAA World Tag Team Champions. Meanwhile, back in AEW, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler recently defeated the Young Bucks to further cement their claim as arguably the premiere tag team on the planet.

This recent incredible run appears to have caught the attention of WWE, who reportedly hold an interest in re-signing the pair.

Dax Harwood signed with WWE in 2012 where he was joined by Cash Wheeler two years later. Alongside Wheeler, the pair known as The Revival, became the company’s first ever ‘Triple Crown’ Tag Team Champions, winning the NXT, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

The pair were released by WWE in April 2020, debuting in AEW the following month.

However, it has now emerged that WWE are interested in brining back their former Tag Team Champions. The news comes from a new report via Fightful Select, which also offers an update on the current contract status of the two men.

The report notes that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler’s contracts technically expire in the summer, but AEW hold the option of a further year on the duo. It is expected that this extension will be exorcised, or new deals will be signed soon.

While WWE are said to hold an interest in FTR, they are unable to approach the pair directly. Furthermore, in 2019, the pair turned down deals worth $850,000 each to remain with WWE, while Mark Carrano (Now former Senior Director of Talent Relations) thought he could get deals worth $1 million.
