One former WWE Superstar may be done with wrestling after recent release.
On May 2, WWE released 17 performers from NXT and the main roster. The big names from NXT included Cora Jade, Gigi Dolin, and Eddie Thorpe, while main roster stars such as Shayna Baszler, Dakota Kai, and Braun Strowman were all let go from the company.
Despite the disappointing news, stars like Cora Jade and Dakota Kai have both released statements about their wrestling futures, while it is expected that Dani Palmer will not pursue a wrestling career going forward.
Taking to social media to announce that she was no longer with the company, she expressed her thanks before revealing she was “officially” closing out her athletic career.
Thank you WWE for bringing me to the love of my life🤍 the past 3 years have been amazing! It’s a bittersweet feeling to be officially closing out my athletic career, but I can truly say I went til the wheels fell off..literally lol. Our bodies are a gift and mine has been so kind to me. I look forward to this next chapter!! Gods been giving me some big dreams with bringing my business back and I couldn’t be more stoked about it! Thank you all for the support❤️❤️
As well as her comments, Fightful Select reported that those they have spoken to “don’t believe that Palmer will continue in wrestling”.
Palmer, real name Alexsis Amrhein, is a three-time NCAA National Champion in acrobatics and tumbling at Baylor University. She signed for WWE in 2022 and made her debut later that year. However, her time was plagued with injury, which resulted in her requiring double hip surgery in 2024. Then, in what ended up being her final match, she was injured during a recent EVOLVE taping.
