On April 3rd, it was reported that NXT stars Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler had requested their release from WWE.
Fightful Select broke the news that The Dyad duo, who were recently in action at Stand & Deliver, requested to be released from their contracts. Later the same day, in a since-deleted social media post, the Wrestling Observer followed up on the news, saying that the release had been granted.
However, Dave Meltzer clarified what he had heard on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying that their situation is currently “up in the air”.
“That’s up in the air now. They were telling people that they got the release. I actually heard from someone this morning in WWE and it was, ‘Yeah, they’re gone’.
“Then later in the day, it was like, ‘I don’t think they got the release.’ They told people they did, but I got the impression that it’s not necessarily the case, as far as getting the release.
“So we will have to wait and see for the next couple of days how this all plays out.”
The Dyad appear at WWE TV tapings
Now, it appears that both Fowler and Reid are very much still part of the roster as they appeared at the recent NXT Level Up TV tapings alongside fellow Schism members Ava and Joe Gacy.
The moment was shared by several Twitter users who were at the tapings.

Fowler and Reid have been part of the company for some time, mainly appearing on NXT UK and NXT.
Reid, also known as James Drake, signed with the promotion in 2017 for the United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Fowler, better known as Zack Gibson, signed the following year as the UK brand prepared to launch.
They began teaming together in 2018 and defeated Mustache Mountain at TakeOver: Blackpool to become the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
They went on to hold the titles for 231 days before dropping them to Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews at TakeOver: Cardiff.
Following the loss, they headed stateside to join the original black and gold version of the brand. They debuted in 2020 in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and reached the finals before falling to the BroserWeights.
When NXT relaunched as NXT 2.0, they aligned themselves with Joe Gacy as part of The Schism and received the new names of Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid, with the duo now being called The Dyad.
Dwayne Johnson’s daughter Ava was the most recent member to join the group, adding a female presence to the faction before they began to feud with Chase U.
