Update: Taking to social media to provide an update for the AEW fans, Bandidio stated that he suffered a “blow to a delicate area of his head” and is waiting until there is no more inflammation in his brain:
“What a week-end! All I can do is thank God for allowing me to wake up another day after all that has been through!. The blow was in a delicate area of my head, now just to wait till there is no brain inflammation. Thank you to all my people who have been messaging me asking about my current status!!. It’s been hard to cope with these days with myself, too much frustration runs over my head. The hardest battle of my life is coming, with myself!! All I can say is that I will try to return a thousand and one times to the squad!! so I achieve it at some point or stay trying…!
“Neither you, nor me, nor anyone will hit as hard as life but no matter how hard you do it!” No matter how hard you resist and keep moving forward, that’s how you win” ROCKY BALBOA
Original story: An AEW star has suffered a concussion.
At the recently conducted ROH Final Battle 2024, Chris Jericho defeated Matt Cardona to retain his ROH World Championship. However, moments after the bout, fans saw Bandido return after 18 months to save Cardona from Jericho.
However, just hours after his return, the former ROH World Champion is again injured. Dave Meltzer of WON reported that while making the save against Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith, Bandido suffered a concussion. As soon as he returned, fans saw him take out Jericho with a drop kick from the top rope, but land on his head.
We are told Bandido did suffer a concussion Friday night from landing on the back of his head doing a missile dropkick after the Chris Jericho win over Matt Cardona. Obviously Jericho vs. Bandido was scheduled in an ROH title match at some point. With concussions, you don’t know what it means as far as how long someone will be out of action.”
The show concluded with a dramatic confrontation between Jericho and the returning star, strongly hinting at a future match. However, with the concussion reports, it remains a mystery when fans can see him back again.
Days before his eventual return at Final Battle, the Jacksonville-based promotion had been airing cryptic vignettes about his comeback.
Bandido had been out of action since last year, dealing with a wrist injury that needed surgery twice.
