Is this released WWE star on his way toward AEW?
Moments before the 7th February SmackDown episode, reports emerged about Cedric Alexander being released from the promotion. Soon after, a stream of several other releases followed it, including multiple popular WWE names.
With several major names such as Isla Dawn, Sonya Deville, AOP, and many others now out, former tag-team champion Cedric Alexander has already teased his next move. A part of MVP’s ‘Hurt Business’ from 2020 to 2022, Alexander also shared a tag-team title reign with Shelton Benjamin during that era.
However, all the other members of that faction, MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Benjamin, are now a part of All Elite Wrestling. Teasing a major move to the Jacksonville-based promotion, Alexander shared an image of their action figures posing together on his Instagram stories.
In September 2024, Fightful Select reported that Alexander had renewed his contract with the organization earlier in the year. The update further reported that the deal was supposedly a multi-year agreement, which makes the sudden departure even more shocking.
Now going by ‘The Hurt Syndicate’ in AEW, the faction came together in late 2024, and are the current World tag-team champions.
